I have been in the business world working professionally as an Accountant for over ten years, but I have found tutoring provides equal job satisfaction. There is nothing better than seeing one of my students develop a desire to learn and become proficient in all of their subjects. I love numbers and when I decided to go to college, I felt Accounting was a really good fit. I attended Boston College and have both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Accounting. When I am tutoring, I like to simplify things and make it as easy as possible for my students to understand key principles. Accounting and Math can overwhelm some students, so I break down the material into smaller chunks that aren't as intimidating. I find that this keeps them from being frustrated and takes off some of the pressure. By creating a comfortable and understanding atmosphere when tutoring, I believe this is reassuring for my students and sets a good stage for learning. I tutor in the areas of Accounting and Business, and work with my students to have a good knowledge of important concepts in both of these areas. If I'm not talking about Accounting, I am probably cooking a vegan meal or dreaming of a sunny beach somewhere.
